A range of high-end advent calendars have been launched in time for Christmas. But are they worth the money?
- Vogue Festive Calendar 2025
Cost: £355
Estimated value of individual items: over £1,600
Vogue’s new countdown to Christmas boasts a coveted collection of skincare, jewellery and hair accessories from some of their favourite luxury brands like Moschino and Therabody. Waking up every morning to a new tool for your self-care routine is the perfect Christmas treat but are a few serums and hair clips worth £355? Well with each of the 32 products in the calendar costing an average of around £35 the overall worth is about £1,120 well over the £355 retail cost making Vogue’s festive calendar a great purchase for any luxury lovers.
2. Charlotte Tilbury- Charlotte’s beauty treasure chest
Cost: £175 or £131.25 in the sale
Estimated value of individual items: £264
This makeup mash-up holds only 12 luxury beauty items such as lip liners, mascaras and lip glosses behind its doors. By Christmas your makeup routine will have been perfected, but can you put a £175 price tag on beauty? Well with each product costing around £15-£20 separately the £264 estimated value seems accurate. So feel free to pamper yourself for less this Christmas.
3. NEOM- The Ultimate Calm Box
Cost: £135
Estimated value of individual items: £238
If you want a calming start to your day during this hectic Christmas period this is the advent calendar for you, but is it worth the £135 price tag? NEOM has cultivated a collection of candles, diffusers and skincare items to help you combat yule tide stress. With only seven products this calendar is a little unorthodox and somewhat disappointing, but the £45-£23 worth of each product redeems the calm box and brings its worth to its expected £238.
4. The Fragrance Shop advent calendar
Cost: £150
Estimated value of individual items: £400
The Fragrance Shop’s pungent collection of 25 perfumes holds miniature versions of all your favourite smells, including: Michael Kors, Barbour, and Givenchy. Each mini perfume has a retail price of around £10-£15, making the overall worth of the calendar £250-£300.
5. Laithwaites wine advent calendar
Cost: £99.99
Estimated value of individual items: £105
Laithwaites boozy advent countdown is crammed full of a variety of 187ml miniature wines. The wines are an array of reds, roses and whites with a full sized bottle of prosecco behind the final 24th door. But are these bottles worth their cost? Well, with each mini bottle costing around £4 and the full sized prosecco costing £13 the total worth of this calendar is about £105. Although the cheeky treats in this calendar are worth its retail price it must be questioned whether wine is the best choice for a morning surprise.
