Get involved! Join the Spark team today!
At Spark we’re run by volunteers and we’re always keen to get people involved!
What do we need from you if you apply to volunteer? We like to embrace a diverse environment and welcome people from all walks of life. We ask that you put the audience first, have a can do attitude, are self motivated, believe in yourself, are passionate about Sunderland (or willing to dive in to the City life), have integrity, are consistent in your offer to us, respect our leadership team, work well both alone and in a team, contribute positively to our culture and are generally a nice friendly person.
All of our volunteers are required to understand the OFCOM Broadcasting code whether you want to work with camera’s, file paperwork, broadcast on the radio or just do some google analytics. This may sound scary but fear not! When you sign up we will ask you to take some time to sit an open book quiz. This acts as a training tool in itself and will quickly get you familiar with the legals of working in a broadcast environment plus it helps to protect you. It’s pretty geeky, we love it and we ask that you score 80%.
Spark is one of the most exciting hobbies you could have. One day you might be interviewing Doris from Seaburn about anti social behaviour and the next day you could be at a festival chatting to Sigala. You can be under 18 to be part of our team but we ask that you have a responsible adult with you at all times.
If you feel that Spark is the place for you, why not fill in the form below and we’ll bring you in for a chat.
