Whitby Town FC and Nathan Haslam have mutually agreed to part ways. Haslam’s departure comes as the club has been experiencing a difficult time in the league, with early exits in both the FA Cup and Isuzu FA Trophy.

The defeat to Newton Aycliffe on Saturday was the final blow as this season’s standards have fallen well short of last year’s. However, his tenure at the club should be remembered fondly. Haslam led Whitby to the first round of the FA Cup last season for the first time in 20 years and secured silverware by winning the North Riding Senior Cup.
Haslam released a statement, saying: “We’ve regrettably not hit the heights we all aspired to this season, which has led to the decision for me to leave.
“Whitby Town FC is a special club, a club I now hold close to my heart. I owe you a debt of gratitude for the way you welcomed me into your club and for the support you’ve shown me.
“There are so many good memories, top of the list was that night at Turnbull against Chelmsford City to get to FA Cup first round and we had our day out at Bristol Rovers.”
Assistant Manager Gary Liddle will take charge of the weekend’s game away to Morpeth Town.
