The travel and holiday industry during Covid – What impact did the pandemic have on business?

The Covid pandemic had a huge impact on the travel and holiday industry as according to the Office For National Statistics there was only 23,827 visits abroad by UK residents in the Covid heavy year of 2020 compared to a much larger 53,816 across only three quarters of 2022.

However the Travel industry was still working hard during the pandemic, offering refunds and moving holidays onto different dates. As shown in the interview below with Kerry, a travel agent, as the pandemic calmed down the influx of holidays was huge and long haul flights and holidays gained much attraction with people having saved money during lockdown and wanting to finally get out of the house.
