Tottenham Hotspur faced European champions PSG last night in Paris and despite leading twice in the game they failed to hold on in the Champions League group stage.
Richarlison gave Spurs the lead after 35 minutes however 10 minutes later Vitinha equalised for the French side and shortly after he scored again to make it 2-1 to the defending champions.
Randal Kolo Muani scored against his parent club to equalise for Spurs before goals from Fabian Ruiz and Pacho made it 4-2. Kolo Muani scored a pure consolation goal before Vitinha sealed the deal for PSG from the spot and secured his hat-trick, a 5-3 victory and three points at the Parc des Princes.

However, this is not the first time that Spurs have bottled it against PSG this year.
After beating Manchester United 1-0 to win the Europa League, Spurs booked their ticket to the Super Cup where they met PSG in the final.
Many wrote Spurs off due to PSG’s incredible form in their Champions League campaign in contrast to Tottenham’s poor run of form in the Premier League where they finished 17th .
Surprisingly, goals from Van De Ven and Christian Romero gave Spurs a 2-0 lead. That was until the 85th minute when Kang in-Lee scored to pull one back for PSG and then in the last minute of the game, Gonçalo Ramos scored to send the game into extra time and eventually onto penalties.
Despite Vitinha missing the first penalty and Solanke converting his, Spurs failed to capitalise on their 1-0 lead as Mathys Tel and Van De Ven both failed to convert. Before Nuno Mendes won the shootout and delivered the Super Cup to Paris.

So, why does this keep happening to Spurs? Maybe the club’s cursed from opening their trophy cabinet for the first time in years, or maybe they’re just simply unlucky only time will tell.
