As the Lionesses continue on their run of friendly matches, the make-up of the squad has significantly changed from the group who won the UEFA European Championship this summer.

However this gives many new, young and bright talented players the opportunity to show manager Sarina Weigman just how hungry they are for a spot in the senior squad.

The Lionesses will play China at Wembley on Saturday, November 29.

Who is missing from the squad?

Captain Leah Williamson is still working her way up to full fitness after sustaining a knee injury in the tournament this summer.

Lauren James also picked up an ankle injury in the final.

Hannah Hampton suffered from a quad issue after a club game against Arsenal, with concerns she may miss the rest of the year.

The most notable missing player from the summer squad is Michelle Agyemang after sustaining a ruptured Anterior Cruciate Ligament in Englands victory friendly against Australia.

As well as current NWSL Championship winner, Jess Carter is recovering after a good season for the American club.

Which players have been brought into the squad?

After a surprising switch from Jamaica to England, Taylor Hinds is looking to make her second cap for the senior squad after getting called up in October.

London City Lionesses’ Freya Godfrey is looking for her first senior cap for Weigman’s side.

As well as goalkeeper Sophie Baggley who is also looking for her first cap for the senior squad after not playing for any of England’s teams for over six years.

Aston Villa teammates, Missy Bo Kearns and Lucia Kenall are both looking to gain more minutes with the squad.

Continuing a good run with Manchester City, Laura Blindkilde Brown is back with the Lionesses squad.

Newcomers for Weigman sees Anouk Denton and Grace Fisk join the rest of the team.
