Five Must-Visit Pumpkin Patches in the North East

Pumpkin picking season is here, and Spark Sunderland is revealing the top five unmissable spots to celebrate.

With Halloween around the corner, farms across the North East are selling out tickets to their well-loved annual pumpkin patches. Welcoming visitors to pick their favourite produce, carve their creativity and celebrate renowned autumn tradition, here are our favourite five patches near you…

1. Brocksbushes Farm Shop, Northumberland 

The Brocksbushes Pumpkin Experience 2025 invites ticket-holders to Northumberland for their biggest Autumn event yet. On selected dates, October 4, 5, 11, 12, 17, and 31, you can visit for pumpkin picking and carving. Perfect for families, they offer a family ticket for just £10 and anyone wanting to visit with dogs, October 22 and 29 are open for Woof Wednesdays.

2. Redfox Garden World, Gateshead

Pumpkin picking at redfox is available from October 11 for £2.50 per person. They are extremely excited to share the autumnal vibe with everyone who comes. Redfox themselves have said: “With hundreds of homegrown pumpkins, a carving station to keep the mess out of your kitchen, and plenty of autumn treats, it’s the perfect way to celebrate the season!”

3. East Grange Farm, Durham

With 100,000 pumpkins over 20 acres, East Grange is the perfect autumn spot to spend your day. Known for their pumpkin picking wheelbarrows,there’s no better prop to pose with for photos on your socials. Head over to Durham on October 11, 12, 18, 19 and 24 from 10am-4pm for only £5. 

4. Kinley Hill Pumpkin Patch, Seaham

Bringing the cosy October vibes to coastal Seaham, tickets for Kinley Hill Pumpkin Patch are £5 per car. They invite families, friends and even dogs to visit the patch any day in October half term. Not only can you enjoy picking pumpkins, you can also befriend Kinley Hill’s famous alpacas!

5. Holmside Park Pumpkin Patch, Durham

Holmside Park Pumpkin Patch is offering over 20 spooky season-related indoor and outdoor games from October 3- 31. Owner Lewis said: “It really is one of our favourite times of year seeing families getting so many lovely photos together. They love that we are not just a patch, there is way more included too.”
