Local talent Isabel Southam: Sunderland’s budding new artist

A young artist from Ryhope is making her mark on the local art scene with her stunning drawings of people’s pets.
Isabel Southam, an up and coming young artist is raising her public profile, with her drawings of people’s pets gaining online attention.
Her lifelike commissions have wowed the local community, with over 100 comments on Sunderland Global Media Page commending her talent.
“I’ve been drawing all my life but I only started taking it seriously around two years ago”, Isabel told Spark Sunderland.
When asked why she chooses to draw pets, Isabel said: “I have grew up having all kinds of animals so I do think that has played a part.”
“I honestly just love drawing.”
Her precise and lifelike portraits of customers’ four legged friends make her a one to watch–with her already becoming a favourite among animal lovers.
