Home under fire: British Pakistanis react to India-Pakistan tensions

The fear of ongoing conflict between India and Pakistan is felt thousands of miles away, in the hearts of the British-Pakistani community here in the UK.
These ongoing escalations between the two nuclear powers have shaken the Pakistani community in the North East of England, and people are worried about their families back home.
Students far from home are also feeling the pressure. The ongoing escalations have worsened conditions for Pakistani international students, who are affected emotionally here, thousands of miles from home.
In wars, it is always the people who suffer the most and, as uncertainty looms, communities here are praying dialogue will prevail over destruction.
