Written by Finlay Anderson on 6th March 2025
Sunderland Restaurant Week is set to return this month (March 2025), with many eateries across the city preparing for a much-needed hospitality boost.
The popular event will take place between March 15-23, and have £10, £15 and £20 offers for diners to visit old favourites or try new cuisines.
Almost 50 venues – including venues at the STACK Seaburn and the city’s Sheepfolds Stables – are taking part this month, with it providing the hospitality industry with a boost during one of the quietest months of the year.
One of the venues involved, The Scullery Silksworth, praised the event and looked ahead to the on-rush of diners during the week. They said: “We believe these types of events are very important.
“It gives customers the opportunity to try somewhere where they’ve been meaning to or perhaps a place they’ve not yet heard of and are able to get a great offer while doing so.

“We have had some bookings so far for those getting in early. However, by the time Restaurant Week comes around, we find that we end up very full and sometimes fully booked. We hope to attract new customers.
“It’s always lovely to see new faces in enjoying their time with us and even better when we get to see them again.”
The event’s organisers, Sunderland BID, explained the benefits that the event has on the region and for diners, who can try the different eateries taking part.
They stated: “It always brings a massive boost to the local economy, and we’re delighted with the level of support it gets from restaurants, bars and cafes from across the city.

“Not only does it give people the opportunity to visit somewhere new, they can also return to some favourite spots they might not have visited for a while and enjoy great food at even greater prices.
“The event also acts as a catalyst to get people to come to Sunderland from the wider region and to see how much the city has to offer.”
