SEVENTEEN, the acclaimed 13-member K-pop group, celebrates its 9th anniversary in 2024 with ambitious plans to expand its global reach.
The group launched their 2024 world tour, RIGHT HERE, on October 12 at Goyang Stadium, South Korea, featuring performances from their latest album, SPILL THE FEELS.
SPILL THE FEELS, SEVENTEEN’s 12th mini-album, includes the title track LOVE, MONEY, FAME alongside fan-favorites like Eyes on You and 1 to 13. The album delves into themes of emotional expression, with reflective lyrics that resonate deeply with listeners. “So I wonder, what is it that you want to spill out?” member Jeonghan mused in a promotional video.
To appeal to a broader audience, LOVE, MONEY, FAME is offered in multiple versions, including the TAK Remix, Sped Up, Hitchhiker, and an English version.
The RIGHT HERE tour will span South Korea, the U.S., Japan, and several other Asian countries, running until February 2025, as SEVENTEEN continues to captivate fans worldwide.
In the 2024 autumn edition of Wonderland magazine, Wonwoo shared: “As always, we’ll create a show that showcases our new charms and appeals. Instead of trying to outdo our past success, we want to showcase our performance to a wider audience in different regions.”
Mingyu said: “We simply want to keep going. My goal is not to ‘sell out a show,’ but to make people who have attended our show want to come back and see more.”
Musical achievements and overseas stages:
In addition, SEVENTEEN’s album FML won the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) Global Album Award, and broke the 6.4 million pre-order sales mark in South Korea, becoming one of the world’s best-selling albums in 2023.
In 2024, SEVENTEEN became the first Korean pop group to perform on the Pyramid Stage of the Glastonbury Festival in the UK. In September of the same year, SEVENTEEN also performed as the finale on the main stage of the Lollapalooza Music Festival in Berlin, becoming the first K-pop group to perform on this stage.
SEVENTEEN continues to make a significant impact in the field of public welfare. In June 2024, they were appointed UNESCO’s first Youth Goodwill Ambassador. Through their Going Together—For Youth Creativity and Well-Being , the group will donate $1 million to support global youth projects, with a particular focus on music, art, and sports.
At the UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Youth Nomination Ceremony, Joshua remarked: “Each one of our members has gradually developed a sense of responsibility, with the hope of speaking on behalf of youth and encouraging them to pursue their dreams.”
The American Heart Association has pointed out that SEVENTEEN’s song God of Music, at 120 beats per minute, matches the recommended rhythm for manual CPR, offering the group’s fans, CARATs, a practical way to help save lives.
Future Plans:
According to a statement released by Pledis Entertainment, While the tour continues, members Jun and Jeonghan will be absent from the performances due to personal reasons.
