Whatever you’re fancying this pancake day, we have you covered with a list of the best places in Sunderland to get that pancake fix.
From sweet to savoury, we have gathered a range of different options to suit your taste.
Port of Call – Sunderland
Port of Call in Sunderland will be serving a delicious menu of two-stack pancakes with flavours like biscoff, pina colada, eton mess and maple syrup & bacon. They will be accepting walk-ins only across their two floors where these dishes will be served all day from 11am.
Love Lily – Sunderland
Love Lily has locations in both Roker and Herrington where they are most definitely renowned for their pancakes year round.
With an exclusive pancake day special menu brand new for 2024, these specials include Ferrero Rocher brownie, peach melba and Maltesers stack. They will be serving only pancakes all day from 9am to 9pm at both locations to ensure everyone can try their tasty menu.
Make sure to arrive ahead of time as queues are likely.

Stack Seaburn
Stack Seaburn is the place to go on pancake day to enjoy the appetising pancakes served year-round by YOLO Coffee & Kitchen. You can choose from choices like strawberry & Nutella, biscoff and salted caramel brownies, served from 8am to 9pm.
The Train Line
The Train Line is a dessert takeaway based in Fulwell, Sunderland, they will be operating a delivery service that will be available all day on pancake day between 10am – 10pm. Their pancake day special menu is launching soon so keep your eyes peeled for that popping up on their socials over the coming days.
8O8 Bar & Kitchen
While they may not be known for their pancakes, 8O8 will be extending their opening hours on both Monday and Tuesday due to the overwhelming popularity they’re due to face. You can either eat in or take out and they even have the option to book in advance so you can avoid disappointment.
These Things Happen
Despite only being open for less than six months, These Things Happen will be celebrating its very first pancake day with an inviting menu of both pancakes and crepes.
This includes buttermilk pancakes accompanied with either streaky bacon & maple syrup, caramelised banana & blueberry compote or a vanilla crepe accompanied with either suzette syrup & chantilly cream or Nutella sauce. They will be serving this menu between 4pm – 6pm with portions for both adults and children.
