A Newcastle cat café have recently hosted successful adoption and fundraiser days on behalf of Hartlepool cat rescue, Second Chance.

Mog on the Tyne cat café have worked with the rescue for several years and some of their resident moggies (Pumpkin, Yokai and Kiyo!) have been adopted from Second Chance. As well as the adoption events, the café has also hosted fundraising craft days. One recent craft day involved customers making bandanas for their own cats at home. This specific event raised a brilliant £355!

The most recent adoption event was held in December 2022. Several of the cats and kittens from the rescue managed to find a loving home, just in time for the winter holidays. The café also kindly donated their booking fees for the day to the rescue.

Another adoption and fundraising day will be hosted at the café on February 5. Customers are welcome to join representatives from the rescue for a chat about adoption or even becoming a foster home for some of the rescue kitties! There will also be advice available about making sure your home is suitable for a pet cat. Even if you’re not currently looking to foster or adopt, the event is a must for cat lovers who want to spend some time with some lovely cats and kittens. Enjoying some refreshments on one of Newcastle’s oldest streets whilst relaxing with some furry friends is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

The café will also be acting as a donation point during the event, so people are welcome to come along and donate items for Second Chance rescue. Items such as clean blankets, cat beds, toys and unopened cat food will be gratefully received.

Mog on the Tyne is very popular and fills up quickly, so booking a place for the adoption day via their website is strongly advised!
