North Shields Fishermen’s Heritage Foundation Raise Money For A Herring Girl Statue

The North Shields Fishermen’s Heritage Project is raising money for a statue of a Herring Girl.
They want to celebrate the important role that women played in the North East fishing industry.
The group are currently holding auctions and events at North Shields pub the Low Lights Tavern, to raise the money they need to turn their dream into a reality.
