An hour of national debate is coming to Sunderland, which is hosting an episode of BBC Question Time tonight (November 6).
The famous topical debate programme will air at 10.40pm on BBC One tonight, after being broadcast live on BBC iPlayer from 9pm. The show is also available on the BBC news channel and BBC sounds.
The show lets audience members from the general public ask a panel of public figures and politicians key political questions.
A BBC spokesperson told Spark that Question Time changes its location weekly “to ensure it is a national programme relevant to audiences everywhere”.
This time it’s the people of Sunderland being given the chance to have their questions heard.
Question Time editor Julian Vacarri said: “We’re thrilled to bring Question Time to Sunderland and to be hearing directly from the community about the issues that matter most to them.
“There’s a lot on the agenda for tonight’s episode — we’ll be getting reactions to this week’s budget warnings, as well as discussing concerns about the cost of living.”
He added: “Question Time is a chance for people to put their questions to those in power and be part of a national conversation.”
This isn’t the first time that the programme, presented by journalist Fiona Bruce (pictured above), has come to Sunderland: it last aired in Sunderland at The Fire Station in March 2023, with panellists such as Aberdeen North MP Kirsty Blackman and businessman Juergen Maier.
This week’s panellists include:
- Anna Turley, Labour (Co-op) MP for Redcar and Cleveland and newly appointed Minister of State in the Cabinet Office;
- Graham Stuart, Conservative MP for Beverley and Holderness;
- Paul Nowak, General Secretary of the Trades Union Congress (TUC);
- Tim Stanley, historian and journalist.
The venue for tonight’s episode has not been revealed.
