Rumours linking Newcastle boss Eddie Howe to the vacant England national team role have finally been squashed.
Since the resignation of former manager Gareth Southgate in the aftermath of England’s Euro 2024 final defeat, the rumour mill has been in full swing.
As interim manager Lee Carsley failed to really win the Three Lions faithful over, Newcastle fans were anxious at the prospect of the national team making a swoop for the Ex-Bournemouth gaffer.
Rumours of unrest on Howe’s part and informal approaches by the FA had a lot of people on Tyneside sweating over Howe’s future. However, fans have now taken to social media to express their relied as ex-Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel’s appointment has brought an end to this speculation.
Thank God Thomas Tuchel got the England job. That means Newcastle keep Eddie Howe. pic.twitter.com/CkgeOZTmZu
