The University of Sunderland Student Union recently had animals on campus for students to see.
Riggmoor Reindeer and Miniature Mobile Farm brought a llama, an alpaca, a donkey, a pony, rabbits, guinea pigs, goats and sheep.
Many students came out to see and even feed the animals. There was also an ice-cream van and the SU gave students vouchers to get free ice-creams and drinks on campus.
Zoe Jones, who works for the student union said: “We have brought the animals to promote the volunteering opportunity and paid roles opportunities that students have and to also create more vibrancy for students.”
Third year student Jake said: “My favourite animal is the pony. I think having animals on campus is very good for your mental health.”
One of the course reps for the SU said: “This would also promote students well-being.”
It was a nice sunny day and students enjoyed themselves.
