Gamblers were left out of pocket after an online betting company’s ‘technical issues’ during a hectic night in Champions league football.
Online betting company Bet365 has been flooded with complaints after the firm suffered technical problems throughout one of the most thrilling nights of European football – leaving frustrated gamblers unable to ‘cash out’.

Thousands of pounds were claimed to be lost by customers during the second-half of Wednesday night’s 18 Champions League games, something the company put down to “unforeseen technical issues.”
Bet365, run by multi-millionaire Denise Coates, is the official sponsor of the Uefa Champions league.
The technical glitch left gamblers unable to “cash out”, an option which allows users to take an amount of the return stake.
Cashing out allows gamblers then to cash out on a bet for a smaller return then they would originally get if they waited until the bet settled.
Gamblers can find this option attractive when placing accumulator bets, where stakes are placed on multiple games. Outcomes can rapidly change from huge payouts to absolutely nothing.
Some customers reportedly lost cash outs whereby they missed out on “life changing” money.
Many social media platforms such as X and TikTok had users who released their frustration with videos and tweets.
One X user said: “It could have been quite life changing to say the least, my bet was doing well, from 10 minutes from full-time I could have cashed out £1,000 from the £5 bet I put which had a return of £5,000.
“Many others are still waiting for answers from Bet365.”
Bet365 told customers: “Due to unforeseen technical issues a number of products and services were significantly impacted on a widespread scale.
“We do acknowledge that this is not the service that we strive to offer and we will do our upmost to ensure that this does not occur in the future.”
