‘A warm place’ in Seaburn – Friends of Fulwell, a charity for all ages

Friends of Fulwell, a charity based in Monkwearmouth. From sports activities for children and young people to shopping for older people. The Charity offers a wide range of activities.
The organisation started as a sports programme for children and young people, but since 2016 it has continued to grow and now offers a wide variety of programmes.
During the pandemic, they started the service where they went shopping for people who were unable to and brought it to their doorstep. This service is still in operation today.
It started with beach cleaners and many volunteers. This developed into today’s charity, which continues to offer the services of yesteryear.
The premises also allow for a cosy get-together, with the community room, a café and the Main Room, where various activities are offered.
