The National Glass Centre is showing Sunderland graduates’ art in a final exhibition in the Main Gallery before its closure in July.
The exhibition – called The Graduates – contains work by staff and graduates of the University of Sunderland’s Glass and Ceramics course.
Visitors can admire the work of the 51 artists from January 31 until the closure of the centre on July 31 2026.

Some artists created pieces specifically for the exhibition, such as Dr. Jo Mitchell’s piece Human Resources I & II.
Reino Liefkes, Senior Curator of Ceramics and Glass at the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Helen Ritchie, Senior Curator of Modern and Contemporary Applied Arts at the Fitzwilliam Museum helped choose the featured works.
The Research and Learning Galleries will also feature art from Veterans in Crisis Sunderland and PhD student Mary Watson.
The University of Sunderland are closing the centre due to the costs required to repair the building.
