Christmas markets will soon be popping up across Sunderland, offering a festive mix of stalls, gifts, and seasonal treats. Each market has its own theme and atmosphere, making it the perfect place to do a bit of Christmas shopping while enjoying a wholesome day out with someone special.
Running from November right through to Christmas, these markets are a great way to soak up the festive spirit — and don’t forget to treat yourself to a Christmassy hot chocolate or a cheeky mulled wine to keep warm while you browse.

In many households there is an age-old debate on when the right time to put the decorations up is, with some families putting them up in November and some set on waiting for December. Regardless of this, it can be agreed that nothing screams Christmas more than making the house look like Winter Wonderland. So, get in the festive pjs, and get decorating! Many pubs and restaurants extend their menu around Christmas, from festive burgers to stuffed Yorkshire pudding wraps and cranberry sauce, there are lots of fun, festive choices to try this year. Christmas themed drinks can also be found with Costa coming in with an entire “Christmas drinks menu”.
