In the lead-up to the highly anticipated visit from King Charles III, Durham has been transformed with bursts of colour and creativity, thanks to local artist Del’s Doodles. Over six days, the artist brought commissioned pieces to life across the city, supported by Durham BID.
From Elvet & Bailey to Tealicious Tea Room, Danielle brought spring to the windows of 10 central city shops. With the King’s visit attracting both locals and visitors, she set out to brighten the city with wildflower scenes and a whole lot of British charm.
Below is my interview with Danielle, recorded in the heart of Durham. The streets were bustling in anticipation of the royal visit.
With constant foot traffic throughout the day, uninterrupted filming was practically impossible- a true testament to the city’s vibrant community.
