Vegan Black Forest Cupcake from The Good Apple Café Sunderland

The Good Apple Café is Sunderland’s first 100% vegan café. They specialise in homemade vegan cakes and treats, with a small range of gluten free options as well.
I decided to give the café a visit as I am lactose intolerant and have heard good things about the café. I was also really craving a cheesecake and someone whose opinion I trust said they have really good cheesecakes. However, they didn’t have any when I went to The Good Apple so I ordered the Black Forest Cupcake.

The cupcake was very rich and moist, just like a black forest cupcake should be. There was a cherry on top, and a cherry inside which helped the cupcake keep the moisture.
The cream on top was sweet and smooth. Sometimes vegan creams and frostings have a grainy texture but they managed to keep the smooth texture of a non-vegan cream which was a great surprise after my last vegan dessert before this one.
This was the best vegan dessert I’ve had and will absolutely be back for more treats from The Good Apple Café!
