Man Tasered After Brandishing Knife In Popular Newcastle Pub

A man was tasered and arrested by police after brandishing a knife in a Newcastle Wetherspoon pub on Saturday.
Shortly before 10.30am on Saturday, the police received reports of disturbances at the Five Swan pub in Newcastle City centre.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “It was reported that a male inside the venue was in possession of a knife and had damaged furniture within the premises.”
It is not believed that anyone was hurt in the incident, which led to the arrest of a 32-year-old man on the scene.
Daniel Henderson, of Ryedale, Middlesbrough, has been charged with possession of a knife and one count of criminal damage. He is due to appear before Newcastle Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
