Port of Call, one of Sunderland’s most popular restaurants, has launched its new menu after celebrations of their 10 year anniversary.
The well-loved bar and restaurant has now been trading in Sunderland’s city centre for 10 years, and with owners Karen and John Dickman also announcing renovations of sister restaurant Gatsby, it seems to be a great year for business already.
The new and improved menu still features mackem favourites such as steak-loaded fries, as well as exciting new editions including a T-bone steak and shawarma bowl.
Alongside the new menu, Head Chef, Andy Barnett, has implemented a specials menu to experiment with more short-term dishes. However, the Sunday lunch menu will remain as normal.
As well as more delicious food items, POC have expanded their cocktail menu with everything from your standard passionfruit martini to innovative drinks such as a pineapple and rosemary daiquiri.
The new launch seems to be a success. After the busy launch day on Tuesday, Matty Ellison, Manager at Port of Call, said: “The feedback has been exceptional, let’s hope this busyness continues into the weeks and months ahead.”
The venue are also currently taking part in Restaurant Week, offering a main and dessert course for just £15. They hope that the scheme will “bring more new faces into the town” and continue to be a fundamental pillar in the growth of our city.
