Written by on 4th May 2023

Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen are continuing to assist those in need during the cost of living crisis within the UK.

Run by volunteers since 2019, the Sunderland Community Soup Kitchen, which is based in Albert’s Place, Sunderland, offers free food – a main course and a dessert – to anybody who turns up at the kitchen.

They are a non-council funded organisation, so people aren’t required to be on benefits to be able to benefit from the work that they do.

Julie Carling, kitchen manager, said: “It is a really nice place to work as we’ve got a good team and we all support the same goal. We all want a better quality of life.”

The kitchen is open four days a week – Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday – and to find out more information visit their Facebook page.
