Futsal First Team Secure League Title

The University of Sunderland men’s futsal first team has beaten Durham 5-1 in an intense game to secure themselves the BUCS Futsal Northern Tier 3 league title.

Following a solid unbeaten run in Tier 3, they have been promoted to Tier 2 ready for the upcoming season.

Men’s futsal president and first team captain Ahmed Hussein said, “I’m very happy and satisfied with the amount of effort we have put in this season to go unbeaten. With Covid, it had been two years since we had played an official game, so we didn’t know what to expect, but from the first training session, we set the standard of what we wanted from the season and I’m glad we got it (promotion). Tier 2 is going to be a big challenge for us but hopefully we’ll be up for it.
