Sunderland’s Independent to showcase local emerging talents

Written by on 22nd January 2020

Sunderland’s emerging talents will be showcased at Independent as part of Independent Venue Week

Independent Venue Week is a unique nationwide initiative working with local music venues across the UK providing a local feel to every event. Funded by Arts Council England and the wider music industry and global brands, Independent is one of the chosen venues across the country to bring established big names, promoters, labels, media and tastemakers for a series of gigs.

Like all venues in the nationwide initiative, Independent is a locally owned business hosting a variety of gigs throughout the year and championing local musicians, with some experiencing their first headline shows at the venue.

Independent Venue Week is set to begin on Monday 27th January across the UK but locally will begin on Saturday 25th January as London Based TOYS begin their tour in Sunderland with support coming Preston’s White Flowers and Sunderland’s own physc-surfers Silver Club.
