Ed Sheeran fans prepare for his three nights in Newcastle

He’s the man that dominated the charts in 2017 and he’s in the North East today ahead of three performances at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park.

Ed Sheeran’s album Divide was the world’s biggest-selling album last year which contributed to the overall 1 in 8 albums streamed or bought in 2017 came from British artists.

Sheeran will be performing on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th June 2018 as part of the Divide ÷ Tour.

Timings are subject to change at short notice but doors open each night at 5pm where fans will have access to the concourse, seats and pitch standing areas.

The first support act for the performances comes from Jamie Lawson, who is best known for his hit 2015 single, “Wasn’t Expecting That”, and his self-titled album which peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart in the same year.

Jamie takes the stage at around 6:30pm and will be followed by the second support act of the night, Anne-Marie who takes to the stage at 7:30pm.

English singer and songwriter Anne-Marie, first came to prominence after featured on Clean Bandit’s “Rockabye”, featuring Sean Paul, which peaked at number one for Christmas 2016.

The singer has went onto chart success with “Alarm”, “Ciao Adios”, “Friends” and most recently “2002”, which is currently on the Spark Playlist.

Ed Sheeran himself takes to the stage at around 8:45pm and will be on stage for around 2 hours with the concert expected to be finished by 11pm.

His performances come in the week when he was announced as the most played artist on UK radio, TV and in public in 2017 – and also had the most played track with “Shape of You”.

While his song “Castle on the Hill” was the third most listened to song of the year.

Fans attending are reminded that they should bring the physical tickets, booking confirmation, credit card used to purchase tickets and photo ID matching the customer name on the booking.

The box office at St. James Park is open from 11am-9pm.
