Sunderland’s Station Taxis launches ‘Cabpool Karaoke’

Sunderland’s Station Taxis has been offering karaoke kings and queens the opportunity to become part of a new singalong series with its drivers.
Inspired by the celebrity karaoke series on James Corden’s Late Late show in America, Sunderland’s largest taxi firm, Station Taxis, gave customers the opportunity to star in Sunderland’s first version of Cabpool Karaoke.
They posted on Facebook to see who would be interested, and received hundreds of applications from people who wanted to sing their hearts out to their favourite songs in a taxi.
The first video of the series has already reached over 20k views on social media
Natalie Bland, Marketing Manager at Station Taxis is surprised by the response.
We didn’t expect the first video to take off as quick as it did! We had a lot of fun filming it and it was great to see our drivers, guests and customers enjoying it!” – Natalie Bland
Rob Berry, who is the driver in the first video, has worked at Station Taxis for almost 20 years.
I had a really good time doing it and think the lads from the band did too. I’m always up for a laugh, so when they asked me to star in the videos I was well up for it” – Rob Berry
The video features local Sunderland pop rock band Fire Lady Luck.
It was the best taxi journey we have ever had!” – Fire Lady Luck
