This week (14th-20th May) is Mental Health Awareness Week where people are being encourage to open up and talk about their mental health.
Two thirds of people experience a mental health problem in our lifetimes, according to research and this year the theme of the week is about stress.
It look at how we’re coping with stress and by tackling it, that can help go a long way to tackle other mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and, in some instances, self-harm and suicide.
The whole week is aimed to more people talking about all kinds of mental health issues which is why this year there’s a new awareness campaign running called the ‘Mental Health Minute’.
To mark the occasion, Spark is coming together with hundreds of radio stations across the UK who will unite for the first time ever, to play a one minute message about mental health.
The message will be broadcast across a number of stations from community stations like Spark to BBC and Commercial radio, meaning the 1 minute message will reach millions of listeners.
The audio will feature some of the world’s most recognisable voices who are encouraging others to talk about mental health.
It will be broadcast at exactly 10.59am on Tuesday 15th May 2018 live on Spark.
