Sunderland Ladies are back in action this weekend as they are preparing to face Bristol City following a midweek defeat away from home.

The Black Cats went down 3-0 away to Manchester City Women on Wednesday night at the Academy Stadium.

This weekend the Wearsiders return to Mariners Park in the first of two home games on the bounce beginning with Bristol City Woman this Saturday before facing Reading FC Woman on Sunday 29th April.

The Lady Black Cats currently sit two places above Bristol City Woman in seventh in the table with a nine points gap to sixth placed Reading FC Woman.

Bristol City sit ninth in the table with a five-point gap to Sunderland Ladies with only Everton Ladies in between both sides.

As Sunderland play a second game in three days, the Black Cats Ladies defender Kylla Sjoman says there’s a real focus on the turnaround.

Kyalla said, “With a short turnaround, refuelling, recovering, a real focus on that. Just getting ourselves prepared mentality and physically.”

Kylla also stated that playing at home is a great advantage, “Playing at home is always a great advantage and we love playing at home and having great fans behind us gives us the support that we need.”

As the season nears an end and with only 4 games left including Bristol City Woman at home, the Wearsiderswill be looking to pick up points and end the season on a high.

Sunderland AFC Ladies take on Bristol City Women on Saturday 21st April at Mariners Park, South Shields. Kick-Off is at 6pm.
