Sunderland searching for win to keep Championship Survival alive

Written by on 10th April 2018

Sunderland welcome Norwich to The Stadium of Light tonight in a must win game for the Black Cats.

Including tonights game, there’s only five matches remaining for the side and a win is needed to secure the clubs future in the Championship.

Chris Coleman’s side are second bottom in the Championship and are hoping they can do enough in the five remaining matches to stop themselves being relegated for the second season in a row.

Tonight is a key game as currently seven separate the Black Cats from safety although a win could reduce it down to only four points.

But the Black Cats will be looking at results around them tonight with a full fixture taking place in the Championship.

Bottom of the table, Burton welcome Hull while Barnsley who are third bottom are looking to climb out of the drop zone with a win at Ipswich.

Barnsley do have a game in hand compared to Sunderland and Burton meaning things are looking pretty bleak for either club to avoid the drop to league one.

Sunderland last four games after tonight are:

  • Reading – Away – Saturday 14th April
  • Burton – Home – Saturday 21st April
  • Fulham – Away – Friday 27th April
  • Wolves – Home – Sunday 6th May

Cash turnstiles are not in operation for the match tonight, but the ticket office is open until kick off which is 7:45pm.

Ha’way the Lads!
