Sunderland SU elects three new Presidents

The University of Sunderland’s, Student Union have selected three new Sabbatical Officers in three new roles for the next academic year.
The Students Union earlier in the year announced that they would be removing the five current roles and turning them into three new roles.
The new roles are, President of Education, President of Wellbeing and President of Activities.
Voting opened on Tuesday 6th March and closed on Tuesday 13th March in which all University of Sunderland Students were eligible.
Earlier tonight (Friday 16th March), at an awards ceremony hosted by Spark’s Adam Wood at the Quayside Exchange in Sunderland, the winners were announced for the three full time sabbatical roles.
The winners for the 2018/19 academic year is:
- President of Education: Diana Tretjak
- President of Wellbeing: Mandi Purvis
- President of Activities: Bryan Pepple
The Exec is made up of 9 Officers overall, with six voluntary non-sabbatical roles available, including Chair of the Union council.

The three newly elected officers take up their posts later in the year replacing the current four officers ahead of the new academic year.
