Katy Perry announces support act for Newcastle gig

Pop megastar Katy Perry is heading to the North East later this year as she takes to the stage in Newcastle.
Katy who’s had a host of UK hits including the likes of I Kissed a Girl, Firework and 2017 hit Chained to the Rhythm will heading to the Arena in June.
Witness: The Tour – named after her fifth studio album – concluded last month across North America where it received rave reviews.

The world concert comes to Europe in May ahead of the Newcastle performance on Monday June 25th.
Today, Katy Perry has announced that fellow American Hailee Steinfeld will join her on tour as the the opening act for the UK leg.
Hailee had a big hit in her own right back in late 2016 with Starving alongside Grey and Zedd.
The singer is also well-known as an actress having starred in Pitch Perfect 2 & 3 and The Edge of Seventeen.
During 2017, Steinfeld won “Best Push Artist” at the MTV EMAs and Musical.ly’s “Top Covered Artist” award at the Billboard Music Awards.
She also picked up three Teen Choice Award nominations for her work in both film and music.
Witness: The Tour comes to the UK starting in London’s O2 Arena in the 14th June before heading to Newcastle on Monday 25th June.
