Local Talent celebrated at the GenFactor Final
Local singers, dancers and musicians will take centre stage tonight (Wednesday 6th December) for the final of Sunderland talent contest, GenFactor.
The GenFactor is a talent contest organised annually by social housing association Gentoo and is now into its ninth year.
The competition is an opportunity for young people living in Sunderland to showcase their talents and build up their own confidence.
Tonight’s finalists will be hoping to impress the judging panel which includes Lake Poets Frontman, Martin Longstaff, and West End star Brandon Lee Sears.

Previous contestants have gone on to be successful outside the competition, such as 2016 runner up Tom ‘Mouse’ Smith.
Tom, a singer and guitarist, has received a Sunderland Young Achievers’ Award for Music and Performing Arts.
While, 2011 winner Alex Forth has just won a place at London’s prestigious Bird College and 2012 winner Lauren Waine has been performing at the Tyne Theatre’s annual pantomime.
Tonight’s 2017 final is taking place at the Rainton Meadows Arena in Houghton-Le-Spring.
