2 Day ban for Sunderland Troublemakers

Trouble-makers in Sunderland could be barred from certain streets by Police for up to 48 hours. The news comes as the Neighbourhood Policing Team which covers Hendon make tackling anti-social behaviour a priority after members of the community raised concerns about an increase in disorder on the street.

Direction to leave notices are already been handed out to persistent trouble-makers in possession of alcohol in the city centre excluding them from a defined area for up to 2 days. If police find them in the area within that time they face being arrested. The notices will now be used in Hendon and ban recipients from the areas within Salem Street, Gray Road, Ryhope Road and Peel Street.
