Police promote student safety

Posted on 27 April 2010 by

Students concerned with the safety of their belongings have been learning extra ways to prevent theft today.
Northumbria police have been campaigning at St. Peters campus this afternoon giving students advice on looking after their personal belongings and extra measures when living in student accommodation. Theft in student accommodation is rare, however the decision to highlight it is a bid to keep figures low and remind students to stay vigilant.

The police have also been providing students with property marking kits to label their valuables so they’re easier to identify should they be stolen as well as offering advice to anyone with concerns.
