The mother of a 16-year-old girl killed by a speeding police car has taken her road safety campaign to Downing Street.

Yvonne Adamson has handed over a petition with 20-thousand signatures, on what would have been her daughter Hayley’s 18th birthday. She’s calling for all emergency service vehicles to use blue lights and sirens when breaking the speed limit.

Hayley was killed on the 19th of May 2008 when she was knocked down by a Northumbria police car on Denton Road in Scottswood. PC John Dougal hit Hayley at almost 94 miles an hour and was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
