The Country's Favourite New Drug

Posted on 14 January 2010 by

A survey has revealed the drug Methadrone has rapidly become one of the country’s favourite drugs, and what makes this more worrying is that the drug is still legal.

The magazine MixMag conducted the survey

The recent survey was conducted by clubbers magazine “MixMag” and one in three of the readers admitted to taking the legal powder in the last month. The drug is otherwise known as MCAT, Meow and Bubbles and its effects have been compared to a cross between Ecstasy and Cocaine.

It is sold as a ‘plant food’ and is easily found legally online and it has become a goverment priority to discover the long term effects of the drug. People who used the drug and commented in the survey described some short terms effects as headaches, paranoia, heart palpitations and the inability to urinate.

The drug has been known to the science world for some time but its only been the last two years it has been used as a recreational drug and some countries such as Denmark, Norway and Sweden have made the drug illegal.

Clubbers have been warned about the drug

The speed of the rise of the drug means very little is known about its long term effects and because the drug is legal it gives the impression of safety. However doctors are warning there are serious side effects yet to be discovered and that they could be the same as many amphetamines.

MCAT, Bubbles, Meow or Methadrone whatever name is given to this still legal drug its rise to being the fourth most popular recreational drugĀ  has been rapid, the warning signs are huge and don’t be surprised if the drug is illegal this time next year.
