From Saturday 12th December 2009 Peter Pan will be at the Sunderland Empire for all to enjoy,

JOHN CHALLIS, otherwise known as thJohn Challise hilarious “Boycie” in the classic BBC sitcom Only Fools & Horses and
current spin off The Green Green Grass, stars as the villianous CAPTAIN HOOK.

Joining him will be a superbly talented North East cast including Emmerdale heartthrob and Sunderland born
JAMES BAXTER in the lead role of PETER PAN. Best known for his role as Jake Doland in the ITV soap, James
was born and raised in Sunderland and educated at Farringdon Community Sports College. He had a starring role
in the critically acclaimed production of the Fiona Evans stage play Scarborough at the 2007 Edinburgh Festival,
before joining Emmerdale in December that same year.

Back by public demand, following his exceptional performance in Aladdin last year, top North East comic
STEVE WALLS will star as the side splitting SMEE, alongside panto dame veteran and Darlington’s very own
STEVE LUCK as THE DAME.

17 year old JESSICA ROBINSON from Middlesbrough completes the line up, making her professional stage debut
in Peter Pan as TIGER LILY. A student of Stockton Riverside College, Jessica has previously performed in amateur
productions of Les Miserables and High School Musical, as well as starring in Sunderland Empire Stage Experience
summer school productions for the past three years.

British Sign Language

A British Sign Language (BSL) performance of its magical PETER PAN PANTOMIME on Saturday 2nd January at 7pm.

Dedicated to ensuring that its productions are accessible to all, SUNDERLAND EMPIRE strives towards an environment of social inclusion so that everyone can enjoy a variety of superb shows at the venue.

Tony Beckett from Northern Sign Interpreting will be appearing on stage alongside the stars of the pantomime. The theatre reserves seats that offer a good view of the signer so to book people need to email sunderlandeducation@theambassadors.com or call on 0191 566 1045 or 0191 566 1056.
