‘The Mighty Mackem’ Tony Jeffries is back in the region to fight Michael Bambola at the Rainton Meadows Arena on Friday 23 July and the Wearside Super Middleweight recently caught up with Andrew Snaith and the Wednesday Night Sports team, for a second time, to tell us more.

It’s Tony’s eighth professional fight and the man they call ‘Jaffa’ will be hoping to extend his impressive unbeaten run. Here we find out about the Sunderland-born bruiser’s school days and discover who introduced him to Boxing- Andy Muckles and Adam Callen are also on hand to throw a few question jabs. Wearside’s Olympic bronze medal winner and 2008 North East Sports Personality of the Year was again joined by his trainer Bobby Rimmer and was happy to answer all YOUR emails and texts.
