He is the third and final presenter going in the 107 Spark FM Lock-In at 6pm tonight.

He thought he would be announcing someone else as he presented his usual drive time show but little did he know he was about the enter the Lock-In. The Friday Feeling usually kicks off at 6 but tonight his weekend starts in a cage!

Ethan along with Jodie Bryant and Calum Hider have been transported to Spark’s City Hub where they will spend the entire weekend locked in a cage.

The Lock-In is in aid of the If You Care, Share Foundation, a North East charity which promotes awareness of suicide in our communities.

As the Lock-In begins we kindly thank Gen Too, Station Taxis and The Bridges for their support and Shirley from the Foundation.

In total 107 Spark FM has raised over £500 for the Foundation! We hope to more than double this incredible total by the end of the weekend.

Over the course of the next few days the presenters will face a series of challenges which will provide you with some fantastic entertainment! So make sure you keep it right here so you don’t miss a moment.

He joins Jodie Bryant who was announced during yesterday’s Breakfast show.

 

Calum was rudely awakened by a phone call from Sam Willey along with a Spark TV camera crew who invaded his bedroom!

 

The Lock In is in aid of the If You Care, Share Foundation a charity which promotes awareness of suicide.

 

Tomorrow the third and final presenter to enter the Lock In will be revealed during Drive Time after 5pm, then at 6pm the weekend will officially begin as all three presenters are locked in our City Center studio.

Who has the best hat?

All this week the Spark team have been out and about collecting your generous donations for the If You Care, Share Foundation.
 
We’ve been in force across the City including at the University of Sunderland campus buildings.
 
On Wednesday we were joined by none other than Totally Gaga! One of the UK’s best Lady Gaga tributes.
 
The If You Care, Share Foundation educates the public about suicide and supports those whose lives have been affected.
 
Leading up to the Lock-In on Friday the Spark team will be on the streets collecting, so if you see us out and about remember to say hello!

Weekday Breakfast Presenter Jodie Bryant was told at 8.15am that she had been selected to enter the Lock In.
 
The event is in aid of the charity,  If U care Share Foundation, which encourages young people to share their problems and also give support to those bereaved by suicide.
 
Jodie and two other presenters, will be locked away at the our City Hub Studio at Market Square, on Friday 9th at 6pm all the way through to Sunday evening, with challenges and tasks to complete.
 
The event will be covered live on 107 Spark FM and will also be available to watch on line at sparksunderland.com

107 Spark FM will be locking away 3 presenters, in our newly launched broadcasting location, the City Hub,  for two nights facing a gruelling ordeal of challenges and tasks.
 
The event is in aid of ‘If U Care, Share’ – a charity which encourages young people to share their problems and also give support to those bereaved by suicide.
 
The Lock In begins on 9th December and will be live across Sunderland on 107 FM and around the world at sparksunderland.com

Today Sam Willey and the Spark FM team are at Sunderland’s first ever Pride celebrations.
 
We’re broadcasting live from Luma Bar and Bistro from 12pm until 5pm, capturing all the excitement.

They flew the flag for the United Kingdom at Eurovision in 2007 but this weekend Scooch are set to descend on Sunderland Pride!

The pop group reached number 5 in the UK singles chart with “Flying the Flag (For You)”, their Eurovision entry.

Though they assure us they will perform the Euro classic they will also be performing songs from the hit US TV series Glee.

Scooch only achieved 19 points at the 2007 contest but nobody has ever forgotten their memorable performance.

Tonight the band are preparing to perform at the Customs House in South Shields in what is sure to act as a warm up to Sunderland Pride.
